A fingerprint recognition algorithm is a method of identifying a person using his/her fingerprints. Currently, the characterization algorithm and the fingerprint-matching algorithm are the most frequently used fingerprint recognition algorithms. The characterization algorithm evaluates the quality of fingerprint images acquired by the fingerprint recognition sensor to determine their usability, and analyzes the character points of the fingerprints. This is the most frequently used fingerprint recognition algorithm. The fingerprint-matching algorithm is a process of arranging two comparable fingerprints to analyze their common characteristics, and calculating the degree of similarity between the two fingerprints. |
